Note on Security at Sts. John & Paul School for 2023-2024 School YearSts. John and Paul School (SJP) is a safe place for all of our children, faculty, and staff. At SJP, we ensure that our school is in full compliance with all of the safety directives of the NYS Department of Education and the Archdiocese of New York. SJP has purposefully taken additional measures, beyond what is required, to ensure the safety of all present on campus.
All employees at SJP have a completed and up-to-date background check, Safe Environment training, and participate in annual school safety workshops. Throughout the year, fire and lock-down drills, beyond the number required for schools, are conducted with students, faculty, and staff so that everyone present is well prepared for a possible emergency situation. SJP works very closely with the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department. Our local police can be seen each day patrolling around our property. Both uniformed and plain clothes on-duty police officers regularly attend school events and walk the property at random. Major school events include an on-duty police officer. SJP administration is in direct and regular contact with the local police. SJP employs a full-time security guard to help to ensure the safety of everyone on campus. Our guard is in direct contact and works closely with the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department. |
Our school and the property surrounding the school are under 24/7 video surveillance.
No one is permitted to enter SJP unless known and invited to enter. Upon entrance, sign-in is required.
SJP has a number of state-of-the-art security features, including a CRG Map System linked with the SOS Response System with the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department and a Lockdown Emergency Notification System (“blue lights”). SJP has recently updated its intercom and phone systems and made important security updates to our doors and windows.
SJP administration revisits the school safety plan each month and makes regular updates.
As you well know, there are many details about our security procedures which we cannot reveal, obviously, in the interest of security, but we hope that the notes above will help to bring you peace of mind while your children are at SJP each day.
Having done what we can to protect everyone at SJP, we also beg God to protect each and every one of our precious children and devoted faculty and staff!
