Creation of the Community Service Action Club

"Almost everyday at morning prayers, students at SJP say a prayer: ‘Jesus before my eyes, Jesus in my heart, Jesus in my hands.’ This prayer helps us to understand what we need to do as disciples of Jesus. When we have Jesus in our eyes, we can see the good in people. We don’t judge people based on appearance, just as Jesus wouldn’t. To have Jesus in our hearts, we have to form as intimate a relationship with Him through prayer and mediation. Having Jesus in our hearts means that when people see us, they can see the light of Jesus shining in us through our words and actions. Having Jesus in our hands means that we need to do works of charity, carrying Jesus in our hands and bringing Him to others. SJP has taught us how to love Jesus in our hearts. Jesus is the cornerstone of my faith, but SJP has built that cornerstone into a skyscraper that cannot be toppled." -7th Grader
