Events, Extracurricular and Parent Run Activities

  • After School Activities:  After-school activities have included: Sports & Games, Italian, Baseball, Knitting, American Girl Book Club, Irish Dancing, Cheerleading, Nature, Yoga and Arts & Crafts, to name just a few!
  • Antenna School Newspaper: Published monthly, the Antenna is filled with information regarding the goings on of our children and faculty.
  • Authors Program:  This program brings popular children’s authors to our school.  Past authors include world renowned authors Steven Kellogg, David Adler and Bruce Coville.

  • Band Program: Our weekly after-school band program, offered through Paul Effman Music Service, is available to students in grades 3rd - 8th.  The students present two band concerts per year.  Experienced band students have been invited to participate in the Lower Hudson Valley Honor Band.

  • Book Fair: Every fall, the Scholastic Book Fair comes to our school, bringing with it the excitement of reading.  The lower grade students partake in activities designed to encourage reading.

  • Cultural Enrichment:  This committee organizes cultural performances at SJP, as well as field trips.

  • Field Day: The arrival of spring brings the much anticipated Field Day.  Our children spend a day filled with fun and games at Flint Park in Larchmont.

  • Pep Rally:  Our students look forward to our annual Pep Rally, which marks the official start of our annual fundraiser.  The children participate in activities throughout the afternoon, building school spirit.

  • PSPA: Our Parish School Parent’s Association is responsible for coordinating and funding many of the activities listed.  All families are invited to join and participate in PSPA activities.

  • R.E.A.C.T.: “Respect Enriches All Children Together.”  This program involves the students in activities that foster respect for others, including “Prayer Partners” as well as donations to many charitable causes.

  • Scouting:  Program includes Daisies, Brownies, Junior Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts

  • Student Council:  Our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students can participate on the student council.

  • Yearbook:  All grades are represented in our hardbound book filled with pictures of the year’s events.
